I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for a sit down meal inside a restaurant. I applaud all the restaurant owners who have been so innovative in their creation of outdoor space.

Last week we had dinner at La Boca and ate in a parking space on the street. I have lunch on the sidewalk at Tres Colores (Taco Tuesday is a great excuse to go there) at least once a week.

We ate outside on the patio at Bar Casteneda.

Bar Casteneda, Las Vegas, NM

All these places deserve a full blog post of their own, especially the Bar Casteneda. See below the lightly breaded onion rings, deviled eggs, and most amazing, the carne adovada smothered fries. Those fries were what I’ve been waiting to see on a plate my entire life!!

We eat on the back sidewalk at Pantry Dos at least once weekly (we’re in the hood). We’ve eaten in the parking lot of the Inn of the Governors so that we could have a famous Del Charro margarita.

And I’ve perhaps had one too many martinis sitting on the sidewalk at the Anasazi (which is fine with downtown merchants – I have several pair of great shoes because I went directly to Goler afterward.

But sitting indoors, especially in the August heat, will be a sweet relief. I don’t plan to give up on outdoor dining. I’m just ready to sit inside on occasion.

Masks still required for entry into any New Mexico business. You can then remove them when you get to your table.
