Fall is my absolute favorite season in New Mexico! Is there anything better than watching the leaves change, smelling roasting green chile and feeling that first brisk day?

I love everything that comes along with fall in New Mexico. From the Fiestas in Santa Fe to the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. Even our fall foliage is something unlike anywhere else.

One of my favorite fall activities in New Mexico is taking a drive up the mountain in Santa Fe to see the Aspens changing. The colors are unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.

Maybe it’s because trees are somewhat scarce around here, or because the ones we do have are SO spectacular, but there’s just something about catching that first glimpse of fall in the changing trees that really means something to us New Mexicans.

New Mexico even has full foliage pilgrimages dedicated to catching those moments in the fall.

What’s your favorite part about fall? Are you a pumpkin picker or a orchard wanderer? I’d love to hear what “fall” means to you wherever you are!
