You might not know this (or maybe you’re already a huge fan) but I recently started my own podcast called Lifesaving Gratitude. I named the podcast after my (also recently published) memoir Lifesaving Gratitude: How Gratitude Helped Me Beat Stage IV Cancer. You can find the book on amazon and the podcast wherever you listen to podcasts (Spotify, Apple, Stitcher, Google).

So, yes, I did start this podcast as a part of my book launch process, but it is so much more than that. Lifesaving Gratitude – the podcast is an opportunity for me to talk to all the amazing people in my life, learn more about them, talk about how gratitude has changed our lives, and share all their inspiring stories with you! I believe that stories save us and every time I get to talk to a new guest I am amazed to find that belief to be more and more true!

My most recent podcast guest is a dear friend and fellow small-town girl, Tiffany Dowell-Lashmet. Tiffany grew up on a family farm and ranch in Eastern New Mexico. She has a bachelor of science degree from Oklahoma State University in agribusiness farm and ranch management, and a law degree from the University of New Mexico. She authors the Texas Agricultural Law Blog and hosts her own podcast called Ag Law in the Field. She’s also a contributor to Progressive Farmer with a column called Rural Roots. She now lives in the Texas panhandle with her husband and two small children, but she is truly a New Mexico girl at heart.

Tiffany’s blog “Always a Farm Kid” is truly amazing and actually the second blog she’s written. If you love this blog, you should definitely check hers out.

“Follow your heart, say yes to the things that lead you to your dreams, not the dream someone else tells you that you should.” Those are just a few of the inspiring and insightful words shared by Tiffany during our hour-long conversation. After grad school Tiffany decided to break the mold, so to speak, and create her own path in life. She says she didn’t really realize it at the time, but she truly was charting her own course. We talked a lot about how she said “no” to the path others might have chosen for her and was instead, able to create her dream life by always choosing the things that really spoke to her heart.

I loved having this conversation with Tiffany and I think you’ll love the podcast episode too. If you want to hear our full conversation, check the links below. Then listen to the previous 5 episodes, which are also great! It helps us so much if you can subscribe, rate and review wherever you’re listening.
