Living Room of our McKenzie Street casita in Santa Fe

Dave and I ran away to Santa Fe for the weekend and had the good fortune to locate Two Casitas vacation rentals on VRBO.   I’m a big fan of VRBO – I’ve stayed in some great homes and casitas, which always seems just a bit easier and more comfortable than a hotel room.

This weekend was no exception – I sent in the standard inquiry on VRBO and then waited for responses.  Wendy Kapp from Two Casitas immediately e-mailed me back and after several phone calls, she gave me a screaming last minute deal on her McKenzie Street Studio Casita.

Our patio for the past two days. . .

And the best feature was that this casita is just a half block behind the Georgia O’Keefe Museum – so close to the Santa Fe Plaza that it was practically across the street, the closest we’ve ever stayed to downtown.  And it was just around the corner from Bert’s Burger Bowl. . .

And the bedroom - loved the ceilings!

Call Wendy at 505-984-2270 or check out the site at Two Casitas.  I can’t tell you what a great deal she gave us, but I can tell you that I brought home a card offering us 10% off our future stay, or when I refer a guest.  I’m referring you – tell Wendy I sent you and plan on having  a great Santa Fe weekend!

This looks just great. Wonder how much per weekend this would be for rent for one or two and are pets allowed? Dogs.

Beth – Just go to the Two Casitas link (highlighted in the text) and check out their website. Under accomodations, you can choose studio, one-bd, etc., and the costs are given. And you can e-mail or call Wendy at the number I provided to see if they have any great last minute deals! I highly recommend them. . .

  6. [...] I first stayed with Wendy at Two Casitas in the spring of 2011. I immediately fell in love with her properties. Then I stayed with her again, and then again, and then again, as often as I could, and after several visits, I said, “Wendy, I’m going to write about Two Casitas in my personal blog, which is at http://www.ilovenewmexicoblog.com. Okay with you?” She was excited and said of course.  My first post was about the McKenzie Street casita. [...]

Lea Ann – I’m working on a blog post about local restaurants, but have the following quick recommendations: La Choza, Tia Sophia’s, Tecolote and The Pantry for a very local flavor; Pasqual’s for the ultimate Santa Fe breakfast; SantaCafe for very fancy but delicious, white linen experience, Bert’s Burger Bowl for the best green chile cheeseburger in the world; Tune-Up Cafe for a great diner experience (Guy Fieri loved it). . .the possibilities are endless, but these are some of my faves. Also love The Shed, which is just off the Plaza, but you have to have reservations to get in on a weekend night.
