I Love New Mexico

About all things New Mexican

Posted by admin on October - 13 - 2011 | 5 Comments

My great pals (and cousins) TJ and Robin Smith went for a long drive last weekend, all over northern New Mexico.

Las Vegas, Villanueva, Pecos, Mora, Tres Ritos, Taos, Angel Fire, Red River, Cimarron. . .

They took a pile of pictures.

When I suggested that they write a guest blog, they suggested that I write the content instead and use their photos.

Well, the only content I feel like writing is “Wish I had been there.”

For those of you who haven’t spent October in New Mexico, all I can say is, “Get here.”

The colors are gorgeous, the weather is perfect, and the air smells like green chile during the day and an incense bowl at night, when the chill is enough to prompt folks to fire up their woodburning stoves.

Get here and go for long walks and then send me some pictures.

NM really is a beautiful place. I wouldn’t have said that a couple day ago when the wind and dirt was whipping around like crazy. But to be truthful I’m glad I live here. Don went to NC last week and said the scenary was just beautiful also.

  4. Wow, great pictures! We took a trip very similar to the one your cousins took last year about the same time. You are right, nothing like fall in New Mexico!
