I’m a native New Mexican and a lover of green and red chile. There’s a good reason it’s the state question. That said, I’m also the product of families that grew up on the east side of the state with interesting ancestry. We haven’t been in New Mexico for 300 years; only 100 years. So sometimes my favorite foods and recipes include some southern favorites, courtesy of my Grandma Ayres (raised in Texas) and Granny Terry (raised in Oklahoma).

My families are Irish, English, Pottawatamie, and maybe Cherokee (according to one aunt, long gone). Someday soon I’ll get out that 23 and Me box and find out for sure. For now, here are links to the blogs where I either talk about food or provide you with recipes of both.

Happy cooking and eating!
