Life has felt so constraining, stifling and redundant lately. I am sure I am not the only one who has felt like a goldfish in a tiny bowl or maybe finding empathy with Bill Murry in Groundhog Day. I had to remind myself adventure is still possible, even with a Sunday drive. I have to admit I feel a little bit of shame on my recent discovery. I have driven from Albuquerque to Santa Fe though Madrid so many times as it is my favorite route and yet I have never even given Cerrillos more than two seconds of thought. I almost did it again last week but on a split second thought I would make a quick stop. I am so happy I did.

The Clear Light Opera House built in 19888

When I first entered the Village of Cerrillos I was automatically enthralled and wanted to know the entire history. I was intrigued by the Clear Light Opera House and wished I could go inside or even better go back in time when it was first made. I later conducted my research and learned The Clear Light Opera House is one of the oldest buildings in the town.

This town is full of so much life and I look forward to exploring further Black Bird Saloon and meeting new friends at the Cerrillos Petting Zoo.

Luckily, I was able to find a website which gave me great information about this cute little town that I would have never guessed. http://www.cerrillosnewmexico.com/home

I will have to watch the movies filmed here now and see if I can recognize anything from my recent discovery. I have now, thanks to Cerrillos, committed to continuing my adventures.

See you next time Cerrillos!
