It’s baseball season, finally. We wait all year – baseball season signifies the beginning of Spring, and even if we have to endure high winds and dust, we want to be out there in the sunshine, cheering on the Logan Longhorn.
There’s a new grass field this year, and a new coach (my nephew, Kene Terry), and a new attitude among the players. Even though they’re mostly rookies with little or no true experience, they love their coach and they love the game. And a couple of weeks ago, they had their first win in three years! Three years is a long time to suffer through long innings when they were frequently ten-runned.
But at least they don’t suffer with the view. They play at the Ute Lake State Park entrance, with the lake as a backdrop. And if their record this year doesn’t get them to a state playoff game. . .well, there’s always next year. . .
