I suffered a significant loss in my personal life this past week, right after Christmas, and on days when I thought my heart might burst, I talked to friends and wrote pointless essays and did a lot of praying and meditating. I had the honor of attending a memorial service last month for Ruth Hartley, a lifetime Roy resident. The service was held on her ranch in a clearing on the edge of the Canadian River Canyon. For those of you who are unfamiliar with that corner of New Mexico, here are some of the photos I took that day.
